Because I have two Mac ( Actually three, but I just bought 2013 late Retina MacBook Pro and still setting up, so I didn't want to use it ), I ran those BitcoinPlus mining on both Macs.
Here are some results :
Late 2009 MacBook White : 8G 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM, 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Hitachi 5400RPM HDD ( 512G )
OS : OS X Mavericks
Average speed : 1181000
Estimate time for payout : 1.03 hours
0.00000001 BTC per payout
Late 2012 iMac 27" : 16G RAM, 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, 3.2GHz Intel i5, Fusion Drive 1G
OS : OS X Mavericks
Average speed : around 4 times faster than late 2009 MacBook white
Estimate time for payout : 15~20 mins
Same 0.00000001 BTC per payout
One important thing about this is, you can't transfer those Bitcoin payout until it reached 0.01 BTC.
This is what I ran today with two Macs, and it's very obvious that, although it's fun to experience those service, expectation of getting actual Bitcoin through this mining pool at home is pretty much lower.
2 Macs * almost 3 hours = 11 payouts ( 0.00000011 BTC )
0.01 BTC / 0.00000011 BTC = about 9,000 hours = 375 days
As of Jan 5th, 2014, Bitcoin exchange rate is around $840 USD. So, 0.01 BTC = $8.4 USD.
It looks like Bitcoin mining market is already turned into enterprise scale and the person actually getting money fro this business is the Bitcoin ASIC manufactures.
If you check http://minr.info website, CoinTerra's TerraMiner II has 12 days of break even, and it costs $3,499 USD. Well.. if you are seriously considering Bitcoin mining, probably you can try this??
